Shortly before the end of 2020, Amazfit launched the Amazfit GTR 2e and GTS 2e, two devices very similar to their big brothers, the GTR 2 and GTS 2, but with fewer connectivity options, more battery life, and a slightly lower price. Initially, they were left in China, but the company has just confirmed that the devices will officially arrive in other countries.
The new intelligent watches from Amazfit will be available for purchase for $139 as of January 12th in North America. According to the company, they will be available in all the usual sales channels.

These are the new intelligent watches from Amazfit
For practical purposes, the Amazfit GTR 2e and GTS 2e are nailed to the Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2. There are a few differences in size and weight, but they are negligible. The screen technology, which is still AMOLED, and its specifications are also preserved. Thus, the Amazfit GTR 2e mounts a 1.39-inch circular AMOLED panel with 326 dpi and the Amazfit GTS 2e mounts a 1.65-inch rectangular AMOLED panel with 341 dpi.
In terms of sensors, the devices have the BioTracker 2 PPG optical sensor, which is capable of measuring the heart rate in real-time. It is also capable of measuring blood oxygen saturation and monitoring sleep and stress. Also, the Chinese firm has not forgotten to implement the PAI metric (personal activity intelligence), which allows users to obtain a personalized score of their physical condition based on their health data.
The main difference is in the battery. While it is true that the battery amperage of both models is the same as in the previous models, the Amazfit GTR 2e and GTS 2e are capable of holding out for 24 and 14 days, respectively, instead of the 14 and 7 days of their predecessors. It has a simple explanation: these new watches lack WiFi connectivity.
More differences to take into account is that the Amazfit GTR 2e and GTS 2e have neither a speaker nor the capacity to store music locally and play it independently. The company has also discarded the oDLC coating on the screen. However, it’s not all about removing things, as the GTR 2e and GTS 2 have something that their predecessors don’t have: a temperature sensor and the ability to measure it.
Finally, it is worth noting that the watches have a built-in voice assistant that works offline. This allows you to activate sports modes or open the heart rate monitoring function, among other things, but for now, it only works in English. Otherwise, it’s a smartwatch that’s done and done, with the ability to receive notifications and calls, change covers, and record up to 90 types of exercise.
