Apple presented on Monday the list of the best apps and games of 2019 available in the App Store. The chosen ones are the best-rated apps and games for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The announcement ceremony of the winners took place at a surprise event in New York with the slogan “Loved by millions. Created by the best.”

The Sprectre Camera app, which stands out for using artificial intelligence to produce long exposure photos, was chosen as the best of the year for iPhone. According to the company, the developers are responsible for creating tools, services, and games that have moved the world’s culture and, therefore, deserve to be highlighted for creating world trends. “The winners of the Best App Store Applications and Games in 2019 reflect our global desire for creativity and fun,” said Phil Schiller, senior vice president of marketing at Apple.

The winner in the iPad app of the year category was Flow by Moleskine. The software is known for featuring complete digital design tools designed to make it easy for ordinary users and design professionals to produce. The Affnity Publisher app, a tool for creating books, magazines, and posters, was chosen as the best software for Mac.


Apple also presented during the event what they identified as trends in applications in 2019. The company claims that the year was marked by tools designed to help people create stories, whether in text, video or podcast format. In this regard, the app’s Anchor, Canva: Stories & Video Maker, Unfold, Steller, Spark Camera, Over and Wattpad deserved to be highlighted.

In games, the company highlights the effort of developers in the use of point technology to present innovative graphics, design, and features that offer a high level of depth in the experience of consumers of this type of content. The games chosen were Mario Kart Tour, Dr. Mario World, Minecraft Earth, Pokémon Masters, Assassin’s Creed Rebellion, Gears POP!, The Elder Scrolls: Blades, Alien: Blackout and Call of Duty: Mobile.
