Screen and Design

Galaxy A01 Core

The similarities between mobile phones already start on the screen. Both offer TFT technology panels in HD+ resolution. The difference in this aspect is due to the size of the panels, being 5.7 inches on the Galaxy A01 and a little smaller on the Galaxy A01 Core, 5.3 inches.

Regarding the design, the models share an older look, with thick edges, rounded corners, and a matte finish. The Galaxy A01 still features a drop-shaped notch that houses the front camera, while the Core version has a large upper edge. The colors offered for both are blue, red, and black.

Camera

Galaxy A01

For users who value a powerful photo set, these may not be the most suitable devices. Still, Galaxy A01 tends to have an advantage because of the 15MP and 2MP dual cameras. In this case, the second camera consists of a depth sensor used in portrait mode, a feature that blurs the background of images. Galaxy A01 Core offers only a single 8MP camera at the rear.

The selfies captured by the devices should bring similar qualities since both have a 5MP front sensor. The A01 sensor can also be used to perform facial recognition when unlocking the smartphone.

Another similarity between the phones is the recording of videos in Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080).

Performance and Storage

Galaxy A01 features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 439 (octa-core up to 2 GHz) processor versus MediaTek MT6739 (quad-core up to 1.5 GHz) from A01 Core. The main difference is in the number of cores: the Galaxy A01 features an eight-core chip, while the Core model has only four cores.

Both are basic smartphones focused on simple day-to-day tasks. The phones tend to crash and lag when running heavier applications.

There is no difference in the products as far as memory is concerned. In common, both bring 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. They also offer support for microSD cards of up to 512GB.

Battery

Smartphones have the same 3,000mAh battery capacity. According to Samsung, the Core version can support up to 14 hours of continuous Wi-Fi or 4G use. However, the South Korean giant does not report the battery life of the Galaxy A01 in hours.

Android Version

Android 10

Both models leave the factory with Android 10, the latest version of Google’s operating system. The difference is that the Galaxy A01 Core includes the Go Edition interface, a lighter system for the base models that optimizes memory and keeps performance faster. It does not have some features focused on the corporate world.

Additional Features

The features shared by the devices are GPS, accelerometer, and depth sensor. Since they are basic models, neither offers NFC, technology to make proximity payments. The Wi-Fi ranges compatible with both are 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz. The products differ in the Bluetooth versions available, being 4.2 on A01 and 5.0 on A01 Core.

Another important tool that marks a presence in the phones is the dark mode, responsible for leaving the color pattern of the screen darker to offer more comfort to the eyes in environments with low brightness.

Galaxy A01 is the only smartphone to offer facial recognition. Meanwhile, only Galaxy A01 Core is compatible with two simultaneous chips (Dual SIM).

Price and Availability

Another point in common between the phones is the reduction of prices since the launch, both on the official site and in other online stores. Galaxy A01 is available in the market and can be found at $113.99 on Amazon. Meanwhile, Galaxy A01 Core is also available on Amazon for $97.
