The Galaxy A51 is the new version of the Galaxy A50, the mobile that rebranded the Samsung A line in April. The new smartphone arrived in the international market in December with new features compared to its predecessor: the specifications include a 6.5-inch screen, a quad camera, 128 GB storage, and Android 10. Screen and Design

The appearance of the Galaxy A51 has changed considerably from its predecessor. The new model comes with a front camera on the screen, while the Galaxy A50 has a drop-shaped notch. The new format is reminiscent of the powerful Galaxy Note 10.

Galaxy 51

The display has also changed. The display on the Galaxy A50 is Super AMOLED and comes in 6.4 inches with Full HD+ resolution. The A51 retained the resolution and technology but now has a slightly larger size with a 6.5-inch display.

The new phone kept the fingerprint reader integrated into the screen that came with the previous model. The A51 shows a quadruple set with lenses clustered in a vertical rectangle in the upper left corner. This is where the three cameras were positioned vertically on the A50.

Camera

One of the highlights of the Galaxy A51 is the quad-camera. It is divided into a 48 MP wide-angle lens (f/2.0), 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lens (f/2.2), 5 MP macro lens (f/2.4) and 5 MP depth sensor. The A50 is below it not only because it contains three cameras, but also because the largest sensor of the previous model is 25 MP. The A50 has a 3D 5 MP lens and an ultra-wide 8 MP lens.

Galaxy A51

The front camera has also been upgraded on the A51: it now features 32 MP versus 25 MP on the A50. Both have the Portrait Mode function.

Performance and Storage

This is another area where the Galaxy A51 leads the A50. Although both models have an eight-core processor that reaches up to 2.3 GHz speed manufactured by Samsung. The new version comes with an increase in RAM, which has risen to 6 GB, surpassing the A50’s 4 GB.

The two smartphones have 128 GB of storage and have microSD memory card input.

Battery

The Galaxy A51 kept the 4,000 mAh battery seen on the A50. Tests conducted with batteries containing this capacity have proven that phones can spend an entire day unplugged. However, the duration of the power depends on the user’s consumption. Both are compatible with fast charging.

Galaxy A51

Android and additional features

One of the most awaited news of 2019 is present on the A51. It comes with Android 10 which contains the Dark Mode. Although the A50 left the factory with Android 9 (Pie), it is also expected to receive the latest version. Samsung created the One UI for the Galaxy A50 and maintained the enhancements on the A51 that resulted in the One UI 2.0.

Both models feature facial recognition unlocking. At least the Galaxy A51 targeted at the international market does not come with the Digital TV that was present in the A50. The feature allows the user to watch programs without consuming data from the internet franchise.
