The Galaxy A50 is expected to have a successor in the coming days. Backstage information reveals that Samsung is preparing smartphone upgrades with the aim to modernize the design and improvements in the camera suite. A strong indication of the upcoming launch is the leakage of photos of the tests conducted by the FCC, a U.S. body equivalent to Anatel. See, below, all the expectation around the supposed Galaxy A51.
The main feature and perhaps the main change from the Galaxy A50 could be in the photo set. According to the SamMobile, the Galaxy A51 will be the cheapest Samsung phone equipped with a quadruple-camera, that is, one more than the current model. However, the improvement would not only be in the number of cameras, but also the sophistication of each of them.
Sources heard on the site state that the new generation will have the main camera of 48 MP, which would represent a leap of considerable quality compared to the 25 MP camera of the current model. The ultra-wide-angle would leap from 8 MP to 12 MP, while the depth sensor for Portrait Mode would remain at 5 MP. The fourth camera, a new feature of the probable release should have 5 MP and a macro lens to capture nearby objects.
Another improvement would be the front camera, which would go from 25 MP to 32 MP.
Screen and design with a Galaxy Note 10 look
Computer models taken by SamMobile show that Samsung is expected to adopt in the A51 a screen with a centralized hole for the front camera, a design element that debuted in Galaxy Note 10. The change would imply a display with fewer edges, increasing a little the dimensions of the panel: even Super AMOLED with Full HD+ resolution, it would jump from 6.4 to 6.5 inches.
In the back, the main novelty would be in the area of cameras. Instead of the column for the triple camera, the new model would bring a rectangular module to house four cameras and the flash. The design would still be made of plastic, but with a new design in white or black, or in pink and blue colors with pastel shades.
Datasheet with few changes
The mobile phone should not bring major improvements in the technical file, at least in the input version. The Galaxy A51 is expected to come with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage, just like the A50. The change would be due to a more advanced model, with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal space. MicroSD support would remain the same.
The processor would also be upgraded, but with no expectation of significant impact on performance. Instead of the Exynos 9610, the phone would feature the Exynos 9611, also octa-core and a maximum operating frequency of 2.3 GHz.
The Galaxy A50’s successor battery is also expected to keep the 4,000 mAh battery with fast recharging support with a 15W charger.
There are strong indications that the Galaxy A51 will be unveiled on Thursday (12). Samsung’s page for Vietnam has already confirmed the launch of a Galaxy A cell phone on that date, and Indian portals say that the phone will be announced in the country on the same day.
