Screen and Design

Motorola G9 Plus

The Moto G9 Plus has a 6.8 inch IPS LCD screen, Full HD+ resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels), and a density of 386 PPI. The Galaxy A51 screen is smaller, with 6.5 inches, but the display technology is Super AMOLED, which should offer more fluidity in movies and games. The resolution is also Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels), but the density is superior, of 405 PPI. Also, Samsung’s mobile phone has Gorilla Glass 3 protection against falls and scratches.

As for the design, the models are similar in some aspects. Both present notch absence and front camera sheltered in a hole in the screen. The devices still have a thin and elongated body, which can facilitate handling. The Biometrics of the Moto G9 Plus is on the side, while the fingerprint reader of the Galaxy A51 is integrated into the screen itself.

When the subject is rear camera, both smartphones have a quad camera, but the Moto G9 Plus main sensor brings more megapixels, with 64 MP and f/1.8 aperture. The main sensor of the Galaxy A51 is 48 MP and f/2.0 aperture. The other cameras are an ultra-wide 48 MP (f/2.2 aperture), a 5 MP macro lens (f/2.4 aperture), and a 3D sensor with 5 MP (f/2.2 aperture). The front camera of the device is 32 MP (f/2.2 aperture), superior to the 16 MP selfies sensor of the Moto G9 Plus.

As for the video, the two phones record in 4K (2160p) at a speed of 30 fps (frames per second). The front camera of the Moto G9 Plus still has Full HD and 30 fps recording and the Galaxy A51 records in 4K. The two also have an HDR system, which assists the records with more evident contrast.

In terms of processor, the Galaxy A51 should have a small advantage. The device features the Exynos 9611 processor (octa-core up to 2.3 GHz). The Moto G9 Plus processor is Qualcomm’s 730G Snapdragon, an octa-core chip up to 2.2 GHz focused on the gamer audience. The RAM of both is 4 GB, which should meet the demand for basic applications such as social networking, music, and email.

Both have the same storage since they have 128 GB of memory and allow expansion by microSD card of up to 512 GB.

The Motorola cell phone features a more powerful battery, with a 5,000 mAh component. The Galaxy A51 comes with 4,000 mAh, which is enough, according to Samsung, to hold up to 15 hours of continuous use on 4G, 16 hours of Wi-Fi, and 20 hours of video playback.

The South Korean device is compatible with a 15 W fast recharging, while the Moto G9 Plus is powered by the 30 W TurboPower charger.

Android Version and Additional Features

Both devices come out of the factory with Android 10. The Galaxy A51 comes with Samsung’s own One UI 2.0 interface, while the Moto G9 Plus comes with the software closest to a “pure” Android.
