That backside will not go unnoticed

Honor Magic4

The Honor Magic4 has a design that is quite reminiscent of the Honor Magic3. Thus, it has a simple, smooth back, with a huge circular module to house the cameras. Although in the images it looks like they have five cameras, there are three. This rear is curved on the sides to, in principle, improve grip.

What is also curved is the screen. The screen we are talking about is a 6.81-inch LTPO AMOLED display with FullHD+ resolution. That it is LTPO allows the device to offer an intelligent refresh rate of 1-120 Hz, depending on the content being played. It supports HDR10+, plays 100% of the DCI-P3 color space, and the one on the Pro model converts SDR content to HDR in real-time.

It is worth noting that the fingerprint reader (Qualcomm ultrasonic) has been implemented under the display in both cases and that both offer some water and dust resistance. The Honor Magic4 has IP54 resistance, while the Honor Magic4 Pro has IP68 certification, so it can be submerged up to 1.5 meters deep for half an hour.

Looking under the hood of the new Honor Magic4s, both devices are full-fledged high-end. Both phones feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, which is a substantial performance improvement over the previous generation.

They are accompanied by 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. In addition, the devices feature some optimization technologies, such as Turbo Engines and AI Super Rendering, which amounts to a GPU Turbo X feature to improve frame rates and connectivity during gaming.

The operating system is Android 12 with Honor Magic UI 6, Honor’s customization layer. Among the interesting features are “privacy call”, which improves the sound of calls to prevent people around us to hear the voice of our interlocutor, a separate security chip to store passwords and biometric data.

In terms of battery, the Honor Magic4 incorporates a 4,800 mAh battery with 66W SuperCharge fast charging, while the Honor Magic4 Pro has 4,600 mAh and 100W wireless fast charging. According to honor, the Magic4 Pro charges 100% in just 30 minutes.

Three powerful cameras that don’t forget about video

Honor Magic4 and Honor Magic4

Let’s wrap up by reviewing what concerns photography. The Honor Magic4 mounts a 50 megapixels main sensor, a 50-megapixel wide-angle, and an eight-megapixel telephoto with up to 50x digital zoom. For selfies, the device opts for a 12-megapixel sensor.

The Honor Magic4 Pro, meanwhile, incorporates a 50-megapixel 1/1.56-inch main sensor, a 50-megapixel wide-angle sensor with 122º field of view, and a 64-megapixel telephoto sensor (x3 optical zoom, x100 digital zoom). All of this, of course, is enhanced with a computational photography system called Ultra-Fusion. For selfies, 12 megapixels.

As for video recording, the Honor Magic4 series features Magic-Log Movie Master and AI Film Effects. In short, it allows you to record 10-bit Log 4K video at 60 FPS, which on paper should help the most skilled video editors to improve the tonality and overall quality of the clips.
