If Apple remains true to its tradition of recent years, this spring could see the launch of a new iPhone SE. And, as usual around this time, rumors related to the company’s future smartphone have already begun to emerge.

What features will the iPhone SE 2022 have?

With this clear, let’s start with what the leakers say. According to MyDrivers, the iPhone SE 2022 could adopt some features of the iPhone XR. As our colleagues report, the phone’s display would be bumped up to 6.1 inches by reducing the bezels.
The device would not have a Face ID, so the unlocking would be done with a Touch ID integrated button. In the absence of this feature, the notch as we know it would disappear from the front screen, giving way to a central perforation for the selfie camera.
On the other hand, analyst Ross Young says that the iPhone SE with a larger screen (5.7 to 6.1-inch LCD) will be expected in 2024. Consequently, this year’s model would not make the expected leap and would retain its classic 4.7-inch LCD panel.
Young also goes further with his predictions. He says Apple will go for using the “iPhone SE+ 5G” name. This is a bit strange since the Cupertino guys haven’t used a label related to mobile network support since the days of the iPhone 3G, i.e. almost 15 years ago.
As for the SoC, Nikkei Asia predicts that the third generation of the iPhone SE will feature the A15 Bionic chip with 5G, the same as the current iPhone 13. Ming-Chi Kuo, meanwhile, bets on an “updated A14 Bionic” with 5G capability.
When it comes to memory, Apple’s next handset could retain the existing 3GB of RAM. Although there is also the possibility that it will leap 4 GB. However, on this point, the leakers do not agree either.
As for storage, 64 GB and 128 GB versions would be offered. The Cupertino had a 265 GB version of the current model that stopped being offered in September last year and it is not known if it will return with the iPhone SE 2022.
Regarding the camera, one of the most valued points of Apple devices, the XLeaks7 laker renders reveal a single rear sensor. While the details of the hardware are not known, this could have 12 megapixels, like that of the iPhone 11 or the iPhone XR.
When will it arrive and what will its price be?
Apple does not usually provide dates until shortly before its events (if it does not present its products via a press release, although this would not be the case). However, if we take into account what happened in previous years, the company could present the iPhone SE 2022 this spring.
It should be remembered that we are amid a chip shortage that is hitting various industries. And, although Apple tends to be cautious and is considered a priority customer by semiconductor manufacturers, this scenario could lead to changes in the product presentation schedule.

Analysts are confident that it will remain at the base price of $399 in the United States, although there is a possibility that an increase will be applied this year.
