Mobvoi has just presented the renewal of the already known TicWatch Pro 3 GPS, one of the greatest exponents of Wear OS. Its name is TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra and, roughly speaking, it is a more resistant device, more powerful, and with improved connectivity.
The device can be purchased now on the company’s website and Amazon. It is priced at $299 / €299.99, which is the same launch price as its predecessor. An LTE version will be available soon for $359.99. Having made the introductions, let’s see what it has to offer.

More resistant and more powerful
Mobvoi’s new smartwatch is quite similar to the TicWatch Pro 3 GPS. As such, it is a watch with a 47-millimeter circular case, only it now complies with MIL-STD-810G for “extreme temperatures, humidity, solar radiation, shock, low pressure, and water resistance,” the company claims. The display, meanwhile, is protected by Gorilla Glass.
And speaking of the display, there is a 1.4-inch AMOLED panel with 454 x 454 pixels of resolution, which translates to 326 pixels per inch. However, when we talk about these watches we have to talk about “the” screens since it has two: the AMOLED and the FSTN, a low-power screen that we can activate to save battery. As a novelty, you can now choose the color of this screen.
In terms of sensor technology, the device has a heart rate sensor that monitors heart rate in real-time throughout the day and a pulse oximeter for the level of oxygen in the blood. In addition, it has an irregular pulse and atrial fibrillation (IHB/AFib) detection system that, when it detects a problem, sends a notification to the user.
Another new feature is fatigue analysis. According to Mobvoi, the watch assesses mental fatigue and energy level trends by analyzing heart rate. This same function is used by many other brands to analyze stress. Needless to say, it also analyzes sleep.
And what’s inside? There is a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+ processor, a processor with a coprocessor designed to perform low-power tasks, such as opening applications. On paper, having this coprocessor should help the autonomy to suffer less.
Otherwise, it has 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, and Google’s Wear OS operating system. That means you can access all the apps in the Google ecosystem, such as Spotify (with download function) or Google Pay to pay with NFC.
It is worth noting that the watch can receive notifications directly on the wrist and allows you to respond to them. In the same way, we can make and receive calls from the smartwatch. What’s more, there is an LTE version on the way that will be able to do the same, but without the need to have the mobile connected at all times.
Finally, it is worth mentioning the battery. The TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS has 577 mAh and, according to Mobvoi, can offer up to three days of autonomy in smart mode (with the AMOLED screen active) and up to 45 days in essential mode (with the FSTN screen). In any case, it will depend on the use we make of the watch.

The TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS can be purchased from October 13 for a price of $299.99 on Amazon. The TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra LTE, meanwhile, will be available in November and its price will be $359.99.
