Screen and design

Smartphones are very similar when it comes to the screen. Both have a 6.5-inch display with an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. The devices differ in the panel, while the Moto G10 relies on IPS technology with 60 Hz refresh, the Galaxy A12 uses TFT.

Another point in common is the construction of the front: both phones have an elongated body with rounded edges and feature a drop-shaped notch to house the selfie camera.

The big difference is the design on the back. Although both are finished in plastic, the arrangement of the photo array is distinct. The Galaxy A12 is organized in a square module in the upper left corner, while, on the Moto G10, the cameras are housed vertically.

Regarding colors, the Motorola phone is available in floral white and aurora gray. Samsung, on the other hand, can be found in blue, white, black, and red.

The device from the South Korean manufacturer relies on MediaTek’s Helio P35 chip, which has eight cores and speeds up to 2.3 GHz. The two processors work together with 4 GB of RAM.

There is another tie in storage, as Galaxy A12 and Moto G10 feature 64 GB internal space with the possibility of expansion by microSD card up to 1 TB.

The battery is another common feature between phones. The component has a maximum capacity of 5,000 mAh with a promise of autonomy of up to two days. Samsung promises up to 20 hours of 4G internet use and up to 21 hours of video playback. For the Moto G10, the manufacturer promises 186 hours of music playback, 20 hours of video, and up to 17 hours of web browsing.

Both phones feature fast charging technology. However, Samsung’s charger is more powerful: 15 W against 10 W for Motorola.

The Moto G10 leaves the factory running Android 11. There is no information about plans to upgrade it to Android 12, while the Galaxy A12 runs Android 10 initially, together with the One UI 2.5 interface. Samsung has already confirmed that the model is on the list to receive the update to the next version of Google’s operating system.

Android 11 brings new features to smartphones, such as increased data protection, notification grouping, and screen recording.

Galaxy A12 and Moto G10 have fingerprint readers: it is on the back of the Motorola and the side of the Samsung.

Regarding connectivity, both devices offer 4G support, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and NFC. The Galaxy A12 has Wi-Fi only in the 2.4 GHz range, while the Moto G10 reaches 5.0 GHz. Both have USB-C input and a P2 port for headphones.
