After several weeks of rumors and leaks of all kinds, Oppo Reno 2 is official. The company presents the second model of the Reno range with a design traced to the original Oppo Reno. The most notable differences to the previous generation have to do with the photographic section and the processor. A processor that undergoes a facelift and that remains within what we consider to be a high mid-range.

Same Design as its Predecessor

The Oppo Reno 2 is not a revolution, but rather an evolution for the original model. For this same reason, the device integrates the same design as Oppo Reno. The dimensions are maintained, as well as the manufacturing materials (glass and aluminum) and the flap-like retractable chamber mechanism located on the top of the device.

If we move to the rear, the differences are apparent. There are four cameras found on the device compared to the two in the original model. Also noteworthy is the relocation of the LED flash, which is now placed on the right side of the cameras. As for the screen, it is based on a 6.5-inch panel with Full HD + resolution and AMOLED In-Cell technology.

More Power and More RAM for the Second Version

Together with the cameras, the main knickknack of Oppo Reno 2 comes from the processor and RAM, a processor that is based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730G model, according to the manufacturer, to obtain the highest efficiency when playing games.

As for the memory configurations, the Reno 2 has 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of expandable internal storage up to 256 GB via micro SD cards. The rest of the features consist of a 4,000 mAh battery, fast charging VOOC 3.0, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band WiFi, NFC and GPS compatible with all satellites.

Four Cameras and 20X Digital Zoom

The surprise of the new Oppo Reno 2 lies precisely in its cameras. This time, the company opts for a four-camera configuration consisting of 48, 5, 13 and 2-megapixel sensors with wide-angle and telephoto lenses and focal aperture f/1.7, f/2.4, f/2.2 and f/2.4.

The novelty on this device comes from the hand of telephoto zoom, capable of reaching a 5x zoom level in hybrid zoom feature and 20x digital zoom feature. For its part, the 2-megapixel sensor is intended for depth functions to improve portrait mode photography.

So what about the front camera? The module replicates the characteristics of the original Oppo Reno camera: 16 megapixels and focal aperture f /2.0.

Price and Availability of Oppo Reno 2

As usual, the company has not provided any information about the price and availability of the phone. For now, we know that it will begin marketing in India for an exchange price of 465 euros.

Together with Reno 2, two versions called Oppo Reno 2Z and Reno 2F have been presented, with main difference lies in the processor (Mediatek Helio P90 for 2Z and Helio P70 for Reno 2F) and a lower resolution in the rear cameras. The price of the Reno 2Z will start from about 375 euros at the exchange.
