Perforated Screen Design with Side Fingerprint Reader
The OPPO Reno4 Z inherits the same front design as the OPPO Reno4, a screen with holes that make room for a double camera. However, the display of this terminal is IPS and not AMOLED, the resolution is the same Full HD+ or 2400 x 1080 pixels. As for the size, it is 6.57 inches and comes with the addition of 120Hz as a refresh rate. The format is more long than wide and the use is 90.4%. The brightness remains at 430 nits as a typical value and can reach up to 800 nits. Also, this screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3+ to avoid possible scratches or accidental touches.
When an IPS panel is mounted, the fingerprint is not integrated into the screen and is placed on the side of the device. To be specific it is the right side in a position that is comfortable, the volume controls are on the opposite side. Following the sides down to the lower area is the connection ports and the speaker is located, the OPPO Reno4 Z keeps the headphone port. There are two elements at the back: the camera housing that is located on the upper right side with a square shape and the brand logo on the lower left side. The finish of this back is bright and the material used is glass, the available colors are black and white.
The configuration of the cameras in the OPPO Reno4 Z adds two more cameras when compared to the Reno4 Pro and one more when compared to the Reno4. Let’s start talking about the front cameras for selfies, the main sensor is 16 megapixels while the secondary sensor is 2 megapixels and is intended to help when taking portrait pictures. In the rear, the main camera is a 48-megapixel sensor, the second camera is an 8 megapixel wide-angle, the third camera is a 2-megapixel monochrome lens, and the last camera is a 2-megapixel vintage portrait lens. These last two lenses are peculiar cameras and add some attraction to the possibilities of exploration they offer.
MediaTek at the Core
OPPO has decided to rely on MediaTek for the core of this Reno4 Z OPPO. The neuralgic center of this phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 800 processor, an eight-core processor, and compatible with 5G networks. The Mali-G57 MC4 is in charge of the graphic section. As for the RAM and storage, this device comes with 128GB of storage and 8GB LPDDR4X for the RAM.
The battery is 4,000 mAh, has a fast charge, although not 65W as seen in its big brothers, it remains at a respectable 18W. Although it is a mid-range mobile phone, the OPPO Reno4 Z comes with enviable connectivity: NFC, 4G LTE, 5G, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, USB 3.1, and 3.5 mm jack.
Google’s operating system version for mobile devices is Android 10, although it does so under the manufacturer’s customization layer that is ColorOS in its version 7.2.
Price and Availability
The OPPO Reno4 Z arrives for $399 in its only version of 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, although for the moment you will have to wait because OPPO has commented that it will arrive at the distributors from mid-October.
