Screen and Design
The screen size is the same in both smartphones, but the panel is the first point where Smartphones differ. While Xiaomi’s phone brings LCD technology, Samsung uses a Super AMOLED display, considered the best.
Also, Redmi Note 9 places the front camera in a hole in the left corner of the screen, while the Galaxy A51 houses the sensor at the top in a centralized manner. In the back, the quad set is accommodated centrally in Xiaomi’s device, while Samsung’s has its lens in a rectangle on the left side of the phone.
Besides, Redmi Note 9 has a fingerprint sensor on the back. The Galaxy A51, on the other hand, performs this function using a reader integrated into the mobile’s screen.

Both mobile phones have quadruple-camera. However, the differences start at the front camera sensor, which is 13 MP in Redmi Note 9 and 32 MP in Galaxy A51.
In the rear, the main one is 48 MP in the two phones, but it is 8, 2, and 2 MP in the Xiaomi’s device, which has ultra-wide, macro, and telephoto cameras, respectively. The Galaxy A51 has an ultra-wide, macro, and depth sensor, being 12, 5, and 5 MP. Both devices also offer portrait mode, a famous feature that blurs the image background.
Performance and Storage
The processor of the Galaxy A51 is the Exynos 9611, an octa-core up to 2.3 GHz. Meanwhile, Redmi Note 9 features MediaTek’s Helio G85, also an eight-core chip, but with speeds up to 2 GHz.
Regarding storage, the Redmi has versions of 64 GB or 128 GB of data space, and also options with RAM of 3 GB or 4 GB. The Galaxy A51 features a single version with 128 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM. Both still have the possibility of expansion using a microSD memory card.
The battery capacity is one of the highlights of the Redmi Note 9. Xiaomi’s device has a gross capacity of 5,020 mAh. The Chinese giant promises up to 16 continuous hours of games and 147 hours of music playback.
The Galaxy A51 has much less: 4,000 mAh of battery, with a promise of 16 continuous hours of internet surfing and 20 hours of video playback, according to Samsung.
Redmi Note 9 brings fast recharging through Fast Charge 3 technology with 18 W power chargers. The Galaxy A51 also offers fast recharging through a 15 W source.
Both devices have already run Android 10. The difference between them is the interface since the Galaxy A51 uses the One UI, a customized version by the company, and Redmi Note 9 adopts Xiaomi’s MIUI 11.
Redmi Note 9 features a coating that offers splash resistance and is certified to ensure lower levels of blue screen light emission. Samsung also allows the user to reduce blue light. The South Korean mobile also brings Bixby, Samsung’s virtual assistant.
NFC, a function that allows proximity payments, is only available for the Galaxy A51. However, Redmi Note 9 offers a scanner to scan documents. Features such as USB-C input for chargers and the 3.5 mm headphone connector are present in both the Redmi Note 9 and the Galaxy A51.
