Samsung has just made official its new S21 FE, the “economic” version of the Samsung Galaxy S21. It is still a high-end model, although it is the younger brother in the Galaxy S family. This generation maintains the philosophy of the S20 FE: a high-end terminal, but with some trade-offs.
Let’s tell you in-depth the features and technical specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, a phone that comes to compete in the high-end for $699, an attractive price compared to the figures we see in this segment.

A design that looks familiar and has good hardware on board
The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has a very similar design compared to the Samsung Galaxy S21. The camera module is somewhat prominent but much less than in the Ultra variant (it is virtually identical to the S21), and the front is well used, with a small lower chin. The small front hole is maintained.
The panel is 6.4 inches, with AMOLED technology and a 120Hz refresh rate. The fingerprint reader is located under it, with the same ultrasonic technology that we saw in its older siblings, to unlock as fast as possible.
As for the processor, it has (almost) the best of Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 888. It is accompanied by a base configuration of 6 + 128 GB of internal memory and RAM. To power the whole, there is a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging, the same figure found in the S21s and which is a far cry from the rest of its competitors.
Regarding connectivity, there is 5G in the full spectrum, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC for mobile payments, tags, and so on. The resistance is IP68 against dust and water, so it is a fairly complete mobile in this aspect.
Three fairly complete cameras and Android 11
At the photographic level this Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has three cameras: 12-megapixel main, ultra-wide-angle also 12 megapixel and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with three magnifications. The resolution is thus lower than that of its bigger siblings, but it is good news to have optical zoom instead of the classic low-resolution macro/depth sensors. The selfie is 32 megapixels, located in the front perforation.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE arrives with Android 12 under the hood, customized with One UI, the customization layer of the Korean manufacturer. Great news that it arrives with the latest version, crippled on the S21s by performance issues.
Pricing and Availablity of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE
The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE starts at $699 and will be available from January 11. It will be available in three versions, those of 8 GB of RAM with 128 and 256 GB or the cheapest version, 6 + 128 GB.
