Samsung Q700T: An 8K TV with an Affordable Price

A new 8K TV arrives in Samsung’s catalog. This is the Samsung Q700T, a television that becomes the entry model to the Korean manufacturer’s 8K range. With a price more adjusted to its big brothers, and with a more contained diagonal, this model seeks to bring the 8K resolution to more users. It is not that it is an economic television, but its price is already a little more equal to that of the 4K models of high range.

The new Samsung Q700T has an LED panel with 8K resolution and includes Samsung’s quantum dot technology. So far the manufacturer has not given many technical data on this new model, but we do know that is equipped with a Full Array of Local Dimming lighting systems. However, the number of local dimming zones seems to have been reduced by half compared to the Samsung Q800T, its big brother.

What Samsung has confirmed is that the Q700T is equipped with the Object Tracking Sound + (OTS +) system, already seen in the other high-end models this year. This new sound system improves the audio of the TV through the use of eight dedicated speakers integrated into the four sides of the TV. This allows Samsung’s OTS+ system to better position the audio coming out of the TV, ensuring a better sound experience. The OTS+ consists of the Adaptive Sound+ and Active Voice Amplifier (AVA) systems, which analyze the room acoustics and the type of content being viewed to adapt the sound coming out of the TV.

As for the rest of the features, the Samsung Q700T has Gaming Enhancer +, Samsung’s system that allows the use of AMD FreeSync, VRR, and Dynamic Black Equalizer to provide a perfect image in video games. If we stick to what Samsung has done with the rest of the models, only one of the HDMI connectors would have the characteristics of an HDMI 2.1 connector.

Finally, of course, the Samsung Q700T comes with the latest version of the Tizen OS. This offers us access to the applications most demanded by users, such as Disney+, Netflix, HBO, and the Apple TV+ application.

Price and Availability

So far Samsung has only launched the Samsung Q700T in the UK. It is available in 55 and 65 inches, with a price starting from 2,000 pounds for the smallest model and reaching 2,700 pounds for the 65-inch model.

The manufacturer has not yet announced the availability of this new 8K television in the rest of Europe, but we imagine that it will not be long coming. We’ll have to wait and see what its price will be in euros.
