The TCL 20 5G is the first of the TCL smartphone models for 2021. A device that stands out on the one hand for its large 6.67-inch screen and NXTVISION technology from the brand and on the other for its compatibility with high-speed 5G networks. It also has a good set of three cameras in the rear, a technical set to the height with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory, and is certified so you can enjoy high-definition music through headphones. All this with a starting price that will be around EUR 300 (roughly $365). Here are the main features of the TCL 20 5G.

5G for Everyone in the TCL 20 5G
This year may be the definitive one for the introduction of 5G network-compatible mobiles in the mid-range market. Proof of this is this 5G TCL 20, which has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 processor compatible with these high-speed networks. Specifically, this model is capable of reaching speeds of up to 2,700 Mbps download, and 700 Mbps upload over these networks. As you might expect, these are theoretical speeds that will depend on coverage at each location. Next to the chip, we have 6 GB of RAM to have many processes open without stopping and 128 GB of internal memory.
Another point that TCL wanted to highlight about this model is its screen. The panel has NXTVISION technology, which is compatible with the reproduction of HDR10 content from platforms such as Netflix. This is a good way to make the colors shown on the screen more vivid and true to the source. A function has also been incorporated to improve the quality of content in real-time. The screen size is 6.67 inches, with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. In this case, a 20:9 format has been chosen which is slightly longer than the one found in last year’s TCL 10 Pro.
By the way, the front camera is perforated on the screen to save space. This, along with the very narrow frames, allows it to achieve a 91% body to screen ratio. Continuing with the design, the company will market this model in two colors, one very striking in blue and another more simple in gray. This model is not particularly thin, as it is just over 9 millimeters thick, and it weighs just over 200 grams. However, by maintaining a format more elongated than wide, it is expected that there is not much problem when handling the equipment with one hand.
In the field of photography, there is a set of three cameras in the back, unlike the TCL 20 SE that has four cameras. The main sensor is 48 megapixels in size, which uses pixel dimming technology to gather four pixels into one and shoot photos with a higher level of detail and more vivid colors. The second sensor is the ultra-wide-angle type with an 8-megapixel resolution and a 118-degree field of view. It is used to take wider pictures of buildings, monuments, or landscapes. Finally, the third sensor is the 2-megapixel macro type with a resolution. This is a sensor that I always appreciate very much as it allows you to take detailed pictures without blurring nearby subjects. However, what you may miss here is a specific sensor to be able to take more professional blur or bokeh pictures.
The front camera, as I said before, is perforated on the screen and has a resolution of eight megapixels. In this case, pixels of slightly more than normal size have been used so that the photos come out with a more detailed point, although it will be necessary to check its performance daily. In the field of autonomy, we must say that we have a 4,500 milliampere battery with a fast charge function 4.0 up to 18W. The approximate time of use that the device can give us in surfing could be around 12 hours.
Among other details that this model has, we must highlight its compatibility with high-definition music (Hi-Res Audio) through headphones. In short, this is a model that meets a remarkable in its technical specifications and has few weak points, at least before you can try it first hand. This is what is expected from a mid-range phone, with the increasingly interesting addition of support for high-speed 5G networks (up to 2,700 Mbps download speed).
Price and Availability
At the moment, we do not know its date of release in some countries, but it will not take long to arrive as its launch for Italy is already a reality. The price it would reach would be around EUR 300 (roughly $365), a very competitive price for its characteristics.
