Xiaomi Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro: Features, Reviews, and Prices

Xiaomi has greatly expanded its horizons and its prices have also moved to another league in the Mi, but it does not forget those who also want the best price without giving up maximum power or 5G. And the manufacturer had come through for these users with the new Xiaomi Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro, two high-end mobiles with a part inherited from the Xiaomi Mi 10.

Thus, a strategy similar to that of last year by expanding this family a little more. The Mi 10T has a very similar configuration, but some differences motivate the “Pro” name of one of them.

Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro

Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro

The Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro has a new look and is somewhat different from its predecessor. It has a huge module that protrudes from the rear hosting three cameras, the flash, and an environmental sensor, but what also stands out is that the Mi 10T Pro also says goodbye to the matte finishes for this rear.

The panel is kept flat and you have the reader on the side, below the physical volume buttons. The front camera also shows a hole in the left corner, and is available in three colors: white, gray, and black (depending on markets).

The screen is the same for both mobiles, having a 6.67 inches panel with FullHD+ resolution and a maximum of 144 Hz for the refresh rate. This frequency will be able to alternate between 30, 48, 50, 60, 90, 120, and 144 Hz depending on the use, looking for saving in battery consumption.

This common panel for both has also a maximum brightness of 650 nits according to Xiaomi, with support for HDR10 and TÜV Rheinland certification of blue light. Also, it integrates two environmental sensors (rear and front) so that the screen is well-seen no matter what the scene conditions are. And to protect all this, there is Gorilla Glass 5 (which in the Mi 10T Pro is also on the back).

There is also a tie at engine grade, both with the Mi 10T and its predecessor. This is the Snapdragon 865 from Qualcomm and its 5G modem, although what changes are the minimum RAM: both versions of the Mi 10T Pro start from the 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Therefore, there is one with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage and another with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB.

In this case, there is also a hop, talking about the battery, concerning the Mi 10 Pro. The Mi 10T Pro reaches the barrier of 5,000 mAh, which perhaps gets better figures in autonomy (at least talking about a refresh rate of 90 Hz), incorporating the Middle Tab system of a charge (which promises to be more efficient). The fast charge supported is also 33W and also includes both the corresponding charger and a USB C to 3.5-millimeter mini-jack adapter.

Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro

As for the cameras, the number is repeated for the Mi 10T and almost the configuration, but there is a jump in the main camera: the 108-megapixel sensor and the OIS. So they are all adding the front:

  • 108-megapixel main sensor (1/1.33 inch, 1.6 pixels μm) Super Pixel with 7P lens with f/1.69 aperture and 82-degree field of view. Optical image stabilization is available.
  • Ultra wide-angle with a 13-megapixel sensor (1.12 pixels μm) with a 5P lens with f/2.4 aperture and 123 degrees field of view.
  • 5-megapixel macro sensor (2 – 10 cm, AF) with an f/2.4 aperture lens.
  • Front camera with a 20-megapixel sensor (1/3.4 inch, 0.8 pixels μm) and 5P lens with f/2.2 aperture.

This mobile records video in 8K (as we saw in the Mi 10 Pro), although what is missing is that being a “Pro” does not integrate a telephoto lens used to have a minimum optical zoom. However, beyond the main sensor, this OIS is used to differentiate it from the previous one, so we will have to see if it is especially noticeable in videos and low-light shots.

What they have also highlighted are the clone function (which works for video) and the different long exposure modes. This promises that with the Mi 10T Pro you can create light thread effects, silk effects, and even photograph the Milky Way. And watch out, they promise a very high nighttime performance helped by algorithms and artificial intelligence.

Xiaomi Mi 10T

Xiaomi Mi 10T

The Xiaomi Mi 10T reminds the Xiaomi Mi 10 in many of its specifications but experiences slight improvements in some sections. The design is also quite different and adopts the lines that we will see also for the Mi 10T Pro.

In this case, the screen is flat and does not curve to the sides, seeing that the rear is thinning to the edges. The module is completely different, more striking, and with a large main sensor of 64 megapixels crowning it, and is available in dark gray and black.

The front camera continues to peek through a hole in a 6.67-inch corner panel with FullHD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. However, it jumps to 144 hertz as we will see also in the Pro, releasing an automatic function of adaptive refresh rate according to use (AdaptiveSync).

To make sure it’s high-end even if it doesn’t come with a Pro name, the Mi 10T also integrates Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 with 5G connectivity support. It comes with either 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (with RAM and UFS 3.1 storage).

Another improvement over its predecessor is the battery, integrating a 5,000 mAh battery that supports a rapid charge of 33 watts. Also, the 33W charger comes with the device, as well as a USB C to 3.5-millimeter mini-jack adapter, as the latter is not available.

Speaking of photography, in the Mi 10T we see the following combination of triple rear camera and front camera:

Xiaomi Mi 10T
  • 64 MP (1/1.7 inch, 1.6-pixel μm) Super Pixel with 6P lens with f/1.89 aperture and 79.8-degree field of view.
  • Ultra wide-angle with a 13-megapixel sensor (1.12 pixels μm) with a 5P lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 123-degree field of view.
  • 5-megapixel macro sensor (2 – 10cm AF) with an f/2.4 aperture lens.
  • Front camera with a 20-megapixel sensor (1/3.4 inch, 0.8 pixels μm) and 5P lens with f/2.2 aperture.

The Mi 10T can record video at up to 8K at 30 frames per second and incorporates the usual portrait, night, and other modes such as AI SkyScaping 3.0, to change backgrounds creatively. The front camera also has a night mode and also incorporates 120 fps slow motion.
