This is probably the most sophisticated Smart TV from Xiaomi, a product that is aimed at the high-end (despite its price) with remarkable technical details.

Particularly noteworthy is its 75-inch QLED panel, but also that 192-zone FALD backlighting system that will compete with high-end models from other manufacturers.

Also very interesting is the inclusion of HDMI 2.1 connectivity in this model, one of those options that until now we had only seen in high-priced TVs and that finally seems to be coming to many more models in 2021.

Xiaomi Welcomes HDMI 2.1

Xiaomi Mi TV Q1 75"

The new member of Xiaomi’s Smart TV family features a QULED panel with 4K UHD resolution and Dynamic Local Dimming technology that allows reaching a contrast ratio of 10,000:1.

It also has support for both Dolby Vision and HDR10+, two of the most notable alternatives when it comes to playing HDR content. The audio section is also well-covered thanks to Dolby Audio and DTS-HD support.

The processor that governs this TV is the MediaTek MT9611, which makes its debut in equipment with Android TV, but in these specifications, two of the most striking elements are the support for refresh rates of up to 120 Hz and also the integration of HDMI 2.1 connectivity, something crucial to be able to take full advantage of next-generation consoles like the Xbox Series S/X or the PS5.

Xiaomi compared its new 75-inch Mi TV Q1 with the Samsung Q80T and highlighted that compared to the latter model, the Mi TV Q1 has Dolby Vision technology support and the advantages of Android TV or Google Assistant compared to Tizen and Bixby in the Samsung.

We will have to check if indeed the image and sound quality of both models is comparable because Xiaomi’s product is more affordable at least in terms of starting prices.

New Control with Android TV 10

One of the novelties of this TV is its new remote control, which has Bluetooth technology and can be used without having to “point” to the screen to press any of the buttons on the remote.

There are shortcuts for Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, as well as voice control, which means without a remote we can control the TV with voice. Google’s voice assistant will be available to hear us at a distance of up to three meters. Thus, we can easily use the Google Assistant functions (also Alexa), and also “mute” the microphone through physical access on the TV, if we are concerned about privacy.

The operating system that governs this TV is Android TV 10, and Google’s improvements to this platform will mean that we will soon be able to benefit from the latest changes to an increasingly powerful interface. Home automation control remains a constant on this platform, and Xiaomi’s ecosystem of IoT devices will be able to benefit from this voice control capability.

The 75-inch Xiaomi Mi TV Q1 features WiFi connectivity but also integrates the functions of any Chromecast and even Miracast so that we can use these two technologies to send content or replicate the screen of our mobiles or laptops.
