“Listening Care” by Yamaha

Yamaha TW-E3B

These headphones bring something curious, the “listening care” by Yamaha. It is based on the characteristics of the human ear, which is more sensitive to some frequencies (notes) and less sensitive to others: we perceive the mids and voices better because that has been our evolution. Taking into account the difficulty of listening to low and high-frequency content when the volume is low, as well as the differences with sound in various listening environments, Listening Care corrects the sound balance optimally according to the volume.

Yamaha TW-E3B

That is: some frequencies are worse at low volume, but turning up the overall volume to hear them means putting your hearing at risk. Yamaha’s system takes into account the incoming music and background noise and adjusts the levels and equalization to achieve an optimal balance at any volume. The result is a sound that feels natural to us, is easy to listen to even at low volumes, and reduces ear fatigue due to excessive levels.

In-ear Headphones

Yamaha TW-E3B

These Yamaha in-ear headphones come with four different size adapters, from XS to L, so you can choose the ones that fit you best. They do not annoy and seal the ear canal well: this way the music reproduction is better (especially in bass) and logically they will better isolate the user from the ambient noise. As they are made of soft silicone, they are not uncomfortable in the long term.

24 Hours Battery Life

Yamaha TW-E3B

The battery of each earphone (as they do not have any cable, each one must logically have its own power supply) is enough for 6 hours of playback. The case where they are stored, as in most of this type of headphones, has another battery: each time we put them on, they are charged. The battery in the case is sufficient for three full recharges, i.e. another 18 hours: in total, therefore, 24 hours without needing a plug.

Charging is done via a USB-C connection (wireless charging is not possible) and takes about two hours to complete.

Tactile and Rugged

Yamaha TW-E3B

The new Yamaha TW-E3Bs offer IPX5 level water resistance. While this doesn’t make them waterproof, it does make them very resistant to rain or sweat, so in the long run, you won’t have to worry about them, and they’ll be easy to keep clean.

The touch control allows users to perform most of the usual actions without needing to take out the cell phone. Play, pause, control the volume, or answer calls will be easy with a touch or gesture, with the mobile always in safe hands. It is also possible to activate the mobile assistant with a touch, and thus ask what song is that, ask to make a call, latest news, and so on.

Bluetooth and aptX

Yamaha TW-E3B

Yamaha has equipped its new headphones with Bluetooth 5.0 and, the good news has taken the opportunity to make them compatible with more than just the usual SBC and AAC sound standards. These Yamaha accept the aptX codec, which significantly raises the sound quality by avoiding the compression of the previous ones. They do so by adopting the advanced Qualcomm Audio QCC3026 chip, an SoC (System-on-a-Chip) that makes it easy to incorporate this sound mode even in components as small (and low-power) as these.

In addition, this makes them compatible with the independent left/right communication offered by Qualcomm’s TrueWireless Stereo Plus system. Thanks to this, each earphone connects simultaneously to the cell phone, saving energy and improving synchronization.
